Dr. Matt Mishkind is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Colorado School of Medicine, Anschutz Medical Campus. His career has focused on developing programs that utilize technology to improve access to health care, and the overall development of organizations. He began his health care career with the Deployment Health Clinical Center (DHCC) at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC. He also served as one of the original staff members tasked with developing the National Center for Telehealth and Technology (T2) located on Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington State. While at T2, Dr. Mishkind helped lead the development of several technology-based initiatives to improve behavioral health access across the Department of Defense. His particular focus was on developing telehealth programs for remote and otherwise isolated populations.
He currently serves as the Deputy Director for the University of Colorado Johnson Depression Center, and as the Director of Operations for Veteran and Military Programs. This includes overseeing the Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic and the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus and its satellite clinics. Dr. Mishkind received his PhD in Experimental Psychology, with a focus on Organizational Psychology, from the University of Vermont. He has over 25 publications primarily focused on improving access to behavioral health care and has been an author on several best-practice guidelines for telemental health.
