Chad Ellimoottil is an Assistant Professor at the University of Michigan and a member of the Institute for Healthcare Policy and Innovation. After graduating with a degree in Economics from Northwestern University, Dr. Ellimoottil worked at the Medicare Payment Advisory Commission. He subsequently completed medical school and urology residency at Loyola University Medical Center. During his residency, he completed a master’s degree in Health and Healthcare Research through the Rackham Graduate School at University of Michigan. He is currently a urologist at the University of Michigan, the Director of Telehealth for the Urology Department and a member of Michigan Medicine’s eHealth Business Infrastructure team. Dr. Ellimoottil’s research agenda is focused on evaluating telehealth programs and policies. He also directs the Telehealth Research Incubator. He has over 60 scientific publications and has received multiple grants for research.  He has received multiple awards for clinical care and research including Michigan Medicine’s “Making a Difference Award”, Loyola University’s Magis Star for Excellent Patient Care, HCUP’s Outstanding Article of the Year Award and American Urological Association North Central Section Young Health Policy Investigator Award.
